Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, other than skin cancer. The American Cancer Society estimates that 218,890 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in 2007, and that about 27,050 deaths will be attributed to the disease. Here at the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago, we conduct research and publish studies based on our extensive database consisting of thousands of prostate cancer patients. Furthermore, we study the treatment outcomes of prostate cancer patients, in order to make the public better aware of this condition's existence, its prevention measures and treatment options. Our mission is to equip each newly diagnosed patient with the information necessary to make an informed treatment decision.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago supports the effort to educate and serve our community by funding prostate cancer programs, educational courses, our support group, as well as countless research projects.
